Ken Koop - Credit Manager

Ken grew up in Eugene, OR. and graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration and minor in Business Administration. After moving from Southern California, He began working for Western Nevada Supply in the Credit Department in 1996. After learning the basics of Construction Credit with the Blue Team over the next nearly 10 years, he was ready to manage his own Credit Department and was brought in by American Ready Mix to lead their Credit Department and was there for a little over 6 years. The economic downturn in the mid 2000’s Ken left the industry to help run a casino group in Carson City. His talents, passion, and experiences were always in Construction Credit and was soon asked to be the Credit Manager at P.D.M. Steel, until 2019. Ken was fortunate to have stayed in close contact with many of the team members at Western Nevada Supply Co, and upon the retirement of Jim Dickey in 2019, he was asked to return to the place he had always considered “Home”. The Credit Department here at Western Nevada Supply has over 50 years of combined experience and we use that experience to not only strive to help our customers succeed but to help our incredible Sales Team succeed as well. The strong and trusting relationships built with customers and team members is the key to being a successful Credit Department and that is something he considers one of his strengths. he has always had the work hard, play hard mentality, so when not working he is an avid golfer and still plays recreational league basketball and softball; along with being a lead in a Rock ‘N Roll band that plays all over Reno, Sparks, and Carson City. Ken enjoys spending time with his wife Julie and their family.
