Chris Malloy - Industrial Products Manager

Three days after graduating from Reno High School in 1999, Chris Malloy spent his first day as a “summer kid” in the credit shack at Western Nevada Supply’s Sparks headquarters. For the next three months he helped inventory job vans and check in returns before leaving for his first year of college. Each summer he returned for three months of work experience, spending his second summer in Receiving, and his third back in Credits. Upon his graduation from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and minor in Business Administration, unsure where his life was headed, he returned full time to pull orders and load trucks in the Shipping Department. He later moved into the Shipping office full time where he developed processes to improve customer service and quality standards, and later into Water Works operations. After swearing for years he’d never go into sales, in 2010 Chris took his customer focused talents to the Industrial Sales team. The then small team of three has since grown to eight. Over that period the product offerings have grown as well, as the market has moved from specialty products for a few mines and factories to an increasingly robust industrial market.

Chris says, “I am so proud to work for a customer focused business. Every day we get to operate based on the philosophy that the customer comes first. At Western Nevada Supply that’s not a cliché; it is what we truly believe and live. The first question is always, ‘What is best for the customer?’”

Chris is a former Reno Neighborhood Advisory Board member, is disturbingly passionate about industrial pipe, valves, and fittings, and is married to a wonderful operating room nurse, Teresa who puts up with him taking pictures of piping assemblies while on vacation.
